Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been achieved on hard courts

A comeback the Russian player won his first title for nearly 30 months with success over Corentin Moutet in the tournament final.

Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has had a difficult year, achieving just one win at the big events and suffering a difficult moment at the American major.

The player's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and issues with his service game in particular - led to him exiting of the top ten and eventually splitting with long-time coach Cervara.

Presently training with Johansson and Goetzke, he has consistently advanced in the recent weeks - culminating in a closely contested competitive victory over opponent Moutet.

This represents his initial title since the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard surface since that period of that year.

The win also indicates he has achieved 21 titles at twenty-one different competitions.

"For the first time I am participating in a event with my two daughters simultaneously, so to get a trophy is especially meaningful," stated ranked player Daniil Medvedev.

"This victory is in dedication of my child my daughter, because the maiden victory I got when my first daughter her name was born was for her."

The tennis star, the past champion, had been defeated in his past six championship matches, featuring in the German tournament in the past months.

The player's counter-punching approach and frequent emotional displays on court had caused commentators to doubt if his skill to play at the elite level was finished.

Yet the athlete has altered his approach in recent weeks, making an effort to advance forward and compete positively, backed up by an better serve.

He fought back from a break down in the opening set against the tricky Moutet, winning four of the final five games to take the lead.

The pair traded service breaks in the middle set before the challenger, bidding for his first ATP Tour victory, seized the initiative to create a third set.

Moutet rescued four early opportunities in a close deciding set before the Russian broke to that score to secure the win.

Fittingly, he clinched victory with a shot at the front of the court, with the Frenchman unable to manage a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
